kaku – write
oke – wooden bucket
kao – face, honor
ie – house, extended family
aki – autumn
iu – say
akai – red
aoi – blue
kioku – memory
ekaki – painter

This is a chart of Katakana characters, to be used as reference in later lessons. A very useful thing to learn! Katakana is learned AFTER Hirigana in most cases.
